DAY 6, STARRING NEW STATE LIBRARY & ARCHIVES BUILDING
This morning the boys enjoyed a breakfast of bacon, avocado toast with poached eggs, fresh fruit and orange juice. We then caravanned over to see the newly opened Tennessee State Library and Archives. It’s in a wonderful location near the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. The exterior design is striking and the interactive exhibits in the spacious lobby were most interesting.

I definitely plan to go back soon to explore more of the archives.
Our next stop was the Food Court at the Nashville Farmers’ Market. Everyone chose a favorite lunch—Jamaican curry chicken, Jamaican jerk chicken, cheeseburger and fries, Indian food, and barbecue. It was great to see the Food Court fully open again and so many people enjoying lunch there.
After eating, we walked over to Bicentennial Mall and made our way down to the carillon area in time to hear the chime at one o’clock, followed by The Tennessee Waltz on the carillon. The carillon has 95 bells to represent the 95 Tennessee counties. We also took in some of the state history walls and war memorials.

Charlotte left for her Act Like a GRRRL meeting and the boys rested up awhile. Dessert for dinner was a homemade South Carolina peach crisp with vanilla ice cream. We watched the movie Minari before bedtime and the boys gave it 5 stars!
It’s hard to believe Camp Grandmama 2021 is nearing an end. We still have two days of fun and surprises though. Thankful.
